Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. On Monday, health officials in Russia logged 152,337 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 15.5 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 80.5% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 735 Covid-related deaths for a total of 346,235 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
TORONTO – Covid-19 hospitalizations in Ontario and the rest of Canada are falling significantly. The trend of the last few weeks is therefore confirmed, negative only in terms of deaths: their number in fact has always been high and only in the last few days has there been a sharp decline – both in Ontario and Quebec – which, hopefully, will be confirmed in the week just started. TORONTO – After two years in which due to the Covid-19 pandemic, students have been tossed between distance learning and face-to-face lessons, parents are wondering what the next school year will be like. Today, during a press conference, Education Minister Stephen Lecce anticipated some funding from his government for the year 2022-23. “Funds to support the recovery of educational programs never completed and for those of mental health of students – said the minister – all this to allow them to start a more normal school year than the latter two”.
