Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

TORONTO – The strike at the Canada Revenue Agency has also ended: a (provisional) agreement has been reached with the federal government for the 35,000 workers in the revenue sector. The announcement came after the government and the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) reached separate agreements that ended the strike by more than 120,000 federal civil servants.

La conferma arriva da un’istantanea scattata dal rapporto mensile del Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB) presentato ieri nel quale si mette in luce come ad aprile ci sia stato un aumento corposo sia sul fronte delle compravendite sia su quello dei prezzi medi. Certo – avverte l’agenzia – se su base mensile i segnali sono incoraggianti e indicano una sostanziale ripresa del mercato immobiliare, su base annuale il piatto ancora piange, visto che il rapporto tra i volumi di vendita e tra i prezzi medi di dodici mesi fa è ancora nettamente in deficit…
TORONTO – The vast majority of PSAC federal civil servants have returned to work, but for some 35,000 unionized employees of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), the mobilization continues: even today, workers remained on pickets (in the pic above, from Twitter – @Pattycoates), having not yet reached an agreement to the contract.
