Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
MAZARA DEL VALLO (Trapani) – She has launched many appeals in the last seventeen years, since that September 1st when her little Denise, only 4 years old, disappeared from Mazara del Vallo, in Sicily (Italy). Now the mother, Piera Maggio, addresses her directly and does so on social media, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, with a message that moves the whole of Italy. (more…)
Toronto, May 9: Today on Mother’s Day, many people in Canada would express their gratitude towards mothers and mother-like figures. It may include step-mothers, mothers-in-law, guardians, such as foster parents and family friends. For such, it is time for people to thank mothers and mother-like figures who took the time to care for them and help them through life’s challenges. (more…)
Cada vez son más las madres mexicanas que dejan a sus familias para viajar a Canadá a trabajar en los campos. La pobreza y falta de oportunidades de empleo en su país de origen ha provocado que cientos de mujeres emigren a Canadá y otros países de ingresos altos para trabajar y enviar dinero a casa para ayudar a mantener a sus familias. Mexican mothers are leaving their families to travel to Canada to work in the fields. Poverty and a lack of employment opportunities in their home country have caused hundreds of women to migrate to Canada and other high-income countries to work and send money home to help support their families.
