On Friday, health officials in Spain logged 162,508 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 8.0 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 64.9% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 139 Covid-related deaths for a total of 90,759 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 322 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 265 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.5 million worldwide.
