OTTAWA – In arrivo un giro di vite sulla libertà su cauzione: ieri il governo liberale guidato da Mark Carney ha presentato una proposta di legge che renderà più difficile ottenere la libertà su cauzione per una serie di reati, tra cui furto di veicoli, estorsione e violazione di domicilio, introducendo per queste fattispecie quanto è già in vigore per reati più gravi come l’omicidio: l’onere inverso. A crackdown on bail and toughter sentences for repeat and violent offenders

OTTAWA – A crackdown on bail is coming: today, the Liberal government led by Mark Carney tabled a bill that will make it more difficult to obtain bail for a variety of crimes, including vehicle theft, extortion, and home invasion. It would introduce for these offenses what is already in place for more serious crimes like murder: the reverse onus.
