Covid-19 new modelling: high number of hospitalizations, the guard remains high
TORONTO – The Ontario Science Table’s latest projections – the first in 2022 – suggest that following the lifting of some restrictions this week the peak of hospitalizations may be prolonged. On Tuesday, health officials in Italy logged 133,142 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 11.1 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 76.4% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 339 Covid-related deaths for a total of 146,925 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Daily update of Ontario’s Covid-19 Vaccination Campaign
With the largest vaccination campaign underway, the province has administered more than 30.7 million doses into the arms of Ontarians. According to data last updated on February 1, numbers released by the Ministry of Health show health officials administered 57,600 vaccine doses on Monday, down from 91,134 doses the day prior.
