On Saturday, health officials in Italy logged 5,193 new infections. Of the cumulative 4.6 million confirmed positive cases, 94.4% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 57, bringing the total number of fatalities to 129,885.
Globally, over 224 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 201 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.6 million worldwide.
Spain has not updated the status of Covid-19 cases since September 10, 2021.
According to health officials in Ontario, the 7 Covid-related fatalities reported on September 11 occurred more than one month ago.
