On Saturday, health officials in Canada logged 1,539 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 1.6 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 95.4% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 16, bringing the total number of fatalities to 27,636.
Globally, over 231 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 208 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.7 million worldwide.
According to health officials in Ontario, in addition to the 6 Covid-related fatalities reported on September 25, four death occurred more than one month ago.
