On Thursday, health officials in Italy logged 184,615 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 8.1 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 69.8% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 316 Covid-related deaths for a total of 140,188 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 319 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 263 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.5 million worldwide.
