On Monday, health officials in Germany logged 53,916 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 8.0 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 87.0% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 143 Covid-related deaths for a total of 116,411 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 329 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 268 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.5 million worldwide.
