On Wednesday, health officials in the UK logged 88,085 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 17.5 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 83.8% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 534 Covid-related deaths for a total of 157,409 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 383 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 304 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.6 million worldwide.
