On Thursday, health officials in the UK logged 29,229 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 21.5 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 90.5% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 317 Covid-related deaths for a total of 169,412 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 495 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 431 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 6.1 million worldwide.
The status of Covid-19 cases in India, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Canada and Bangladesh do not reflect complete data for April 7, 2022.
