On Saturday, health officials in the US logged 4,254 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 82.3 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 97.4% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 26 Covid-related deaths for a total of 1,015,383 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 503 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 454 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 6.1 million worldwide.
The status of Covid-19 cases in India, Spain, Bangladesh Mexico, Portugal and the UK do not reflect complete data for April 16, 2022.
