On Thursday, health officials in the UK logged 19,472 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 21.9 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 94.3% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 646 Covid-related deaths for a total of 173,032 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 507 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 459 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 6.2 million worldwide.
