On Tuesday, coronavirus cases in India surpassed 30 million after health officials logged nearly 30,000 new infections. Of the cumulative total, 96.5% are considered recovered. Since yesterday, Covid-related deaths increased by 393 bringing the country’s death toll to 389,661.
Globally, over 178 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 164 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 3.8 million worldwide.
Canada has not provided complete data for June 22, 2021. In Ontario, roughly 80 addition cases and 54 deaths reported today are due to a data review and clean up from previous months.
