For the second day in a row, health officials in Bangladesh logged over 11,000 new infections. The last two days have been among the highest daily increases since the onset of the pandemic. Of the cumulative 977,568 confirmed positive cases, 87.0% are considered recovered. Since yesterday, Covid-related deaths increased by 201, a record high number of fatalities reported in one day.
Globally, over 184 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 169 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 3.9 million worldwide.
Data values for status of Covid-19 cases in Canada are incomplete for July 7, 2021. However, in Ontario, there were no Covid-related deaths reported on July 7, 2021.
