The situation in India remains dire as cases surge across the nation. The country recorded over 290,000 new infections in the last 24-hours and more than 2,000 additional Covid-related deaths, numbers not seen since the onset of the pandemic.
Globally, there have been over 142 million confirmed cases of Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 122 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 3 million worldwide.
