Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. Of the cumulative total number of cases 85.4% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 31 Covid-related deaths for a total of 108,120 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
TORONTO – Covid-19 hospitalizations in Ontario continue to drop significantly: today there were 1,540 people admitted to hospitals in the province, yesterday they were 1,704, Friday 1,829 and last week as many as 2,493. The number of people in intensive care also dropped from 414 on Saturday to 402 today, although their number could be higher because not all hospitals report their data over the weekend. With the largest vaccination campaign underway, the province has administered more than 31.2 million doses into the arms of Ontarians. According to data last updated on February 13, numbers released by the Ministry of Health show health officials administered 37,546 vaccine doses on Saturday, down from 48,320 doses the day prior.
