Ontario: altri 38 decessi e oltre 4mila in ospedale. Quebec, bimba di 4 anni muore di Covid-19

TORONTO – Ricoveri in aumento, ma sono soltanto due in più i pazienti nelle terapie intensive. Ieri, in Ontario, il numero di pazienti presenti negli ospedali è salito di 296 unità: adesso sono 4.183, dei quali 580 in terapia intensiva, anche se per questi ultimi l’aumento è davvero lieve (lunedì le persone presenti in ospedale erano 3.887, delle quali 578 in terapia intensiva). Va poi considerato, comunque, che del totale dei pazienti ricoverati, il 53,5% è finito in ospedale per il Covid-19 mentre il 46,5% è risultato positivo dopo essere stato ricoverato per un altro motivo. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 70.0% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 434 Covid-related deaths for a total of 141,825 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

TORONTO – Altri 23 decessi ieri in Ontario per il Covid-19, mentre i ricoveri ospedalieri e i trasferimenti in terapia intensiva sembravano mostrare i primi segni di stabilizzazione: il Ministero della Salute ha infatti reso noto che le persone presenti in ospedale sono 3.887, delle quali 578 in terapia intensiva. Il livello di occupazione di ieri è dunque relativamente simile a quello di domenica, anche alla luce del fatto che alcuni ospedali non segnalano l’occupazione correlata al Covid-19 nei fine settimana (e sabato, ultimo giorno di segnalazione prima della nuova settimana, i ricoverati erano 3.957 contro i 3.595 di lunedì senza il totale della provincia). Of the cumulative total number of cases, 87.0% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 143 Covid-related deaths for a total of 116,411 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

Ontario, hospitalizations stabilize. Another 54 dead in Quebec

TORONTO – Another 23 died today in Ontario from Covid-19, while hospital admissions and transfers to intensive care seemed to give the first signs of stabilization: the Ministry of Health has in fact announced that the people present in the hospital are 3,887, of which 578 in intensive care. The employment level of today is therefore relatively similar to that of Sunday, also in light of the fact that some hospitals do not report employment related to Covid-19 on weekends (and Saturday, last day of reporting before the new week, they were 3,957 against 3,595 of Monday without the total number of the province). →

È un vero e proprio salto nel buio quello che gli studenti dell’Ontario si apprestano a fare oggi quando, per la prima volta dopo le vacanze di Natale, le scuole riapriranno tra mille dubbi. The tax for no vax continues to divide

TORONTO – The Quebec government’s decision to impose a tax on no vax continues to cause controversy. For now, no other province seems oriented to follow the same path as the executive led by Francois Legault. Too many problems of a legal nature – there are those who hypothesize the evident unconstitutionality of the measure – or of simple political gain: it is a highly divisive measure and no other prime minister has decided to risk. Yet, the debate over the appropriateness and feasibility of the measure goes on.
