Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of December 12, 2021, at 5:30 pm EST.

On Sunday, health officials in Greece logged 3,225 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 1.0 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 91.7% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 88 Covid-related deaths for a total of 19,245 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

TORONTO – The surge in infections already recorded last week in Ontario shows no sign of decreasing: today the province reported 1,476 new cases of Covid-19 and 8 deaths. Infections were 1,607 on Saturday (the high number in seven months) and on Friday 1,452. The seven-day moving average of daily cases is now 1,236 (Saturday it was 1,194, a week ago 761).  →

On Saturday, health officials in Italy logged 21,042 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 5.2 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 92.2% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 96 Covid-related deaths for a total of 134,765 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

Of the cumulative total number of cases, 87.8% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 120 Covid-related deaths for a total of 146,255 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
