Covid “swing” in Ontario: hospitalizations start to rise again

TORONTO – More deaths and more hospitalizations: we have often called it a “swing”, that of the daily data on the pandemic, and so it is today: on Tuesday, Ontario confirmed another 11 deaths – which bring the total to the province, from the beginning, to 13,083 – against 2 yesterday, and 1,345 infected patients, a sharp increase from 1,122 in the previous 24 hours.

Monday’s data, however, reflected a still incomplete census as 10% of hospitals do not report data over the weekend and only update it as of Tuesday. And, in any case, hospitalizations have decreased by 13% compared to the same day last week, when 1,555 people with Covid-19 were hospitalized. →

Cherry blossom season in Brampton: the drone footage

BRAMPTON – Brampton’s cherry blossoms are in bloom. The City’s cherry blossoms are located at Joyce Archdekin Park along Main Street South, with an additional tree at the entrance to Gage Park. Cherry blossoms typically bloom in late April and in to May.

The City of Brampton was gifted cherry blossoms as part of the Sakura Project, which was initiated in the year 2000. The Sakura Project granted trees to a number of public locations in Ontario as a symbol of goodwill and friendship between Japan and Ontario. The City’s Parks and Forestry department planted the community’s trees in 2002 and 2003.

Brampton has approximately 70 cherry blossom trees. The City continues to maintain these trees with regular care and pruning.

The City of Brampton invites everyone to be respectful and: allow space for everyone to take photos and enjoy the scenery; do not litter; do not touch or pick the flowers, or climb the trees, as it is harmful to the trees.

Daily update of Ontario’s Covid-19 Vaccination Campaign

With the largest vaccination campaign underway, the province has administered more than 33.0 million doses into the arms of Ontarians. According to data last updated on May 13, numbers released by the Ministry of Health show health officials administered 28,144 vaccine doses on Thursday, down from 29,173 doses the day prior.
