Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

TORONTO – The Liberal Party is ahead in voting intentions at the national level, but in the GTA the gap with the conservatives is minimal. This is the snapshot taken by three different polls published in the last twenty-four hours, which highlight how in these first stages of the election campaign the outcome of these early elections is far from already written and that, at the same time, whoever emerges winner of the result of the polls, will hardly be able to count on an absolute majority in the House of Commons. →
TORONTO – With the return to school approaching by great strides, the pressure on the Ontario government to make vaccination of teachers and non-teaching staff mandatory increases. Raising the voice is the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) with a statement signed by the president, Dr. Adam Kassam: “Schools should be safe places for everyone. That’s why we’re asking for vaccination for teachers and those who work in schools in addition to the mandatory use of masks inside and other measures when schools reopen in September,” Kassam said. →
TORONTO – The question is: how many Canadians are still stuck in Afghanistan? The federal government will not disclose it. “Security reasons”. “Due to the security situation in Afghanistan, Global Affairs does not disclose the number of Canadians registered in the Canadian overseas registration database (Roca),” reads an e-mailed statement from a Global Affairs Canada (Gac) spokesperson to Global News, on Sunday night.
