In Ontario 384 new infected and 12 more deaths

TORONTO – June 16, 2021: Canada stood today at 1,404,798 positives for Covid-19, an increase of 987 more cases than in the previous 24 hours. The number of victims – nationwide – today reached 25,991 total deaths, 27 more than on Tuesday. In Canada today the number of recovered people from the coronavirus stood at 1,364,457. Ontario today reached 540,810 overall positives, an increase of 384 new cases compared to Tuesday. The total number of victims in Ontario has meanwhile risen to 8,986, with 12 more deaths than the previous day. The number of recovered people in the province rose to 526,440 or 645 more than the previous 24 hours. There are 141,106 cases so far registered in Ontario of the English variant of Covid, 1,141 of the South African variant and 4,156 of the Brazilian variant.

today there were 438 people still in hospital, 308 of them in intensive care and 242 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing. There are 9 retirement and long-term homes that continue to record cases of Covid-19.  Today there were 15,332 elderly patients infected in total since the beginning of the emergency and 3,965 total deaths so far recorded among guests of the same facilities. Until today, 7,132 health workers were infected in the same nursing homes and 11 died.

The city of Toronto has recorded, since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 169,003 positives today, with an increase of 84 cases compared to Tuesday. Meanwhile, there were 3,463 total deaths in the city, with 7 more new victims. 163,968 were found to be healed today. There were 608 people still in hospital, 177 in intensive care and 114 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing.

The York Region reached 52,403 total infections today, with 14 more positives than on Monday and 711 victims since the start of the pandemic, with 3 more deaths than the previous day. today, 51,526 people were recovered.

In the city of Vaughan, the total number of people who tested positive for Covid-19 was 21,719 today, with 5 more new infections than in the previous 24 hours. 284 deaths, with one more new death, recorded today.

In Woodbridge today there were 9,310 total cases of positivity since the Covid-19 pandemic started, 6,717 in Maple, 7,467 in Richmond Hill and 12,510 in Markham.

In the Peel Region today there were 110,910 coronavirus positives, 52 more than the last survey and 796 total victims, with 4 more deaths than on the last bulletin. There were 109,648 healings recorded in total, while 3,105 people were hospitalized.

In Mississauga, the total number of people who tested positive for the coronavirus was 40,137 today, 41 more than last Tuesday. Also in Mississauga were today 444 victims so far, with 5 more deaths recorded, while there were 39,479 people recovered from Covid-19 and 1,481 people so far hospitalized due to the coronavirus.

In Brampton, the total number of people positive for Covid-19 was today 66,085 with 38 new cases of contagion more than on Tuesday. 329 confirmed deaths, with 5 more victims since the last bulletin, while 65,516 were found to be healed today.

In Caledon, there were 4,425 registered infections today, with 3 more cases than on Tuesday, while 4,398 had recovered and 20 victims overall, with 2 more deaths confirmed.

In Hamilton the total number of positives today was 21,066 with 19 new cases of contagion more than in the last testing cycle, while the number of victims so far ascertained was 396, with no more new deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.

In Ottawa, 27,481 people were infected today, with 22 more new positives compared to the last survey, while 586 people died, with one more new death recorded since the last bulletin. The healed in the capital today were a total of 26,608.

In Quebec today there were 153 new registered cases, for a total of 373,370 infected, with 6 more additional deaths, per 11.177 total victims.
