TORONTO – Generous donation to the SickKids Foundation to support the children’s hospital: the Minturno Social Club, last Saturday – during a party held at the Jewel Event Center in Woodbridge – presented a check for half a million dollars to meet the highest priority needs of the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, thereby helping “SickKids” continue to provide world-class pediatric care, research and education.
After many years, the Club of Minturno (Minturno is a town in Lazio, Italy) is going out of business and its Italian Canadian members has chosen to make this charitable donation part of their legacy: “SickKids” was chosen because it is a charity close to the hearts of many club members.
In recognition of this generous donation, an elevator within the “Burton” wing of “SickKids” will be named Minturno Social Club, thus leaving a lasting memory in honor of the club’s generous members.
