In Ontario 1,092 new infected and 10 deaths

[GTranslate]TORONTO – March 11, 2021: Canada yesterday stood at 898,824 positives for Covid-19, an increase of 2,851 more cases than in the previous 24 hours. The number of victims – nationwide – yesterday reached 22,363 total deaths, 31 more than on Wednesday. In Canada yesterday the number of recovered people from the coronavirus stood at 845,860. Ontario yesterday reached 313,520 overall positives, an increase of 1,092 new cases compared to Wednesday. The total number of victims in Ontario has meanwhile risen to 7,109, with 10 more deaths than the previous day. The number of recovered people in the province rose to 295,128, or 1.110 more than the previous 24 hours. There are 956 cases so far registered in Ontario of the English variant of Covid, 41 of the South African variant and 28 of the Brazilian variant.

Yesterday there were  680 people still in the hospital, 277 of them in intensive care and 184 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing. There are 83 retirement and long-term homes that continue to record cases of Covid-19. Yesterday there were 14,976 elderly patients infected in total since the beginning of the emergency and 3,749 total deaths so far recorded among guests of the same facilities. Until yesterday, 6,703 health workers were infected in the same nursing homes and 11 died.

The city of Toronto has recorded, since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 101,242 positives yesterday, with an increase of 397 cases compared to Wednesday. Meanwhile, there were 2,703 total deaths in the city, with 4 new victims recorded compared to the previous 24 hours.

The York Region reached 29,846 total infections yesterday, with 81 more positives than on Wednesday and 535 victims since the start of the pandemic, with 3 more new deaths in the last 24 hours. Yesterday, 28,480 people were recovered, while 142 people were still in hospital, 22 of them in intensive care.

In the city of Vaughan, the total number of people who tested positive for Covid-19 was 12,579 yesterday, or 42% of the entire York Region, with 32 more new infections than in the previous 24 hours. 219 deaths, with no new casualties, recorded yesterday, while 12,019 people were cured. 60 were hospitalized, 7 of them in intensive care.

At Woodbridge yesterday there were 5,360 cases of positivity, 3,329 in Maple, 3,971 in Richmond Hill and 7,755 in Markham.

In the Peel Region yesterday there were 64,638 coronavirus positives, 266 more than the last survey and 626 total victims, with no more deaths than on Wednesday. There were 62,357 healings recorded in total, while 1,794 people were hospitalized.

In Mississauga, the total number of people who tested positive for the coronavirus was 22,683 yesterday, 80 more than last Wednesday. Also in Mississauga were yesterday 377 victims so far, with no more deaths recorded in the last 24 hours, while there were 21,742 people recovered from Covid-19 and 878 people so far hospitalized due to the coronavirus.

In Brampton, the total number of people positive for Covid-19 was yesterday 39,131, with 175 new cases of contagion more than on Wednesday and equal to 60.5% of the entire Peel Region. 232 confirmed deaths, with no more victims, while 37,909 were found to be healed yesterday.

In Caledon, there were 2,824 registered infections yesterday, 11 more than on Wednesday, while 2,706 had recovered and 17 victims overall.

In Hamilton the total number of positives yesterday was 11,032, with 56 new cases of contagion more than in the last testing cycle, while the number of victims so far ascertained was 291, with 2 new deaths. Finally, there were 10,109 total recoveries.

In Ottawa, 15,338 people were infected yesterday, an increase of 79 positives compared to the last survey, while 446 people died, with no more new deaths recorded in the last 24 hours. The healed in the capital yesterday were a total of 14,352.

In Quebec yesterday there were 738 new registered cases, for a total of 295,390 infected, along with 15 additional deaths per 10,518 total victims.
