TORONTO – June 15, 2021: Canada stood today at 1,403,811 positives for Covid-19, an increase of 979 more cases than in the previous 24 hours. The number of victims – nationwide – today reached 25,964 total deaths, 25 more than on Monday. In Canada today the number of recovered people from the coronavirus stood at 1,362,543. Ontario today reached 540,426 overall positives, an increase of 296 new cases compared to Monday. The total number of victims in Ontario has meanwhile risen to 8,974, with 13 more deaths than the previous day. The number of recovered people in the province rose to 525,795 or 670 more than the previous 24 hours. There are 140,618 cases so far registered in Ontario of the English variant of Covid, 1,137 of the South African variant and 4,137 of the Brazilian variant.
today there were 433 people still in hospital, 382 of them in intensive care and 244 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing. There are 14 retirement and long-term homes that continue to record cases of Covid-19. Today there were 15,332 elderly patients infected in total since the beginning of the emergency and 3,965 total deaths so far recorded among guests of the same facilities. Until today, 7,129 health workers were infected in the same nursing homes and 11 died.
The city of Toronto has recorded, since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 168,939 positives today, with an increase of 93 cases compared to Monday. Meanwhile, there were 3,456 total deaths in the city, with no more new victims. 163,808 were found to be healed today. There were 608 people still in hospital, 177 in intensive care and 114 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing.
The York Region reached 52,383 total infections today, with 20 more positives than on Monday and 711 victims since the start of the pandemic, with 3 more deaths than the previous day. today, 51,526 people were recovered.
In the city of Vaughan, the total number of people tested positive for Covid-19 was 21,719 today, with 5 more new infections than in the previous 24 hours. 284 deaths, with one more new death recorded today.
In Woodbridge today there were 9,308 total cases of positivity since the Covid-19 pandemic started, 6,714 in Maple, 7,464 in Richmond Hill and 12,504 in Markham.
In the Peel Region today there were 110,800 coronavirus positives, 55 more than the last survey and 774 total victims, with no more deaths than on the last bulletin. There were 109,446 healings recorded in total, while 3,074 people were hospitalized.
In Mississauga, the total number of people who tested positive for the coronavirus was 40,057 today, 15 more than last Monday. Also in Mississauga were today 439 victims so far, with no more deaths recorded, while there were 39,357 people recovered from Covid-19 and 1,466 people so far hospitalized due to the coronavirus.
In Brampton the total number of people positive for Covid-19 was today 66,028 with 36 new cases of contagion more than on Monday. 314 confirmed deaths, with no more victims since the last bulletin, while 65,416 were found to be healed today.
In Caledon, there were 4,421 registered infections today, with one more case than on Monday, while 4,387 had recovered and 18 victims overall, with no more deaths confirmed.
In Hamilton the total number of positives today was 21,047 with 4 new cases of contagion more than in the last testing cycle, while the number of victims so far ascertained was 396, with no more new deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.
In Ottawa, 27,459 people were infected today, with 10 more new positives compared to the last survey, while 585 people died, with no more new deaths recorded since the last bulletin. The healed in the capital today were a total of 26,567.
In Quebec today there were 105 new registered cases, for a total of 373,217 infected, with 6 more additional deaths, per 11.177 total victims.
