In Ontario 318 new infected and 12 more deaths

TORONTO – June 20, 2021: Canada stood today at 1,408,583 positives for Covid-19, an increase of 460 more cases than in the previous 24 hours. The number of victims – nationwide – today reached 26,068 total deaths, 14 more than Saturday.

In Canada today the number of recovered people from the coronavirus stood at 1,370,554. Ontario today reached 542,198 overall positives, an increase of 318 new cases compared to Saturday. The total number of victims in Ontario has meanwhile risen to 9,019 with 12 more deaths than the previous day. The number of recovered people in the province rose to 529,506 or 504 more than the previous 24 hours. There are 142,113 cases so far registered in Ontario of the English variant of Covid, 1,154 of the South African variant, 4,230 of the Brazilian variant and 751 of the Indian variant.

today there were 376 people still in hospital, 333 of them in intensive care and 208 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing. There are 9 retirement and long-term homes that continue to record cases of Covid-19. Today there were 15,336 elderly patients infected in total since the beginning of the emergency and 3,966 total deaths so far recorded among guests of the same facilities. Until today, 7,135 health workers were infected in the same nursing homes and 11 died.

The city of Toronto has recorded, since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 169,155 positives today, with an increase of 45 cases compared to Saturday. Meanwhile, there were 3,478 total deaths in the city, with 3 more new victims. 164,211 were found to be healed today. There were 591 people still in hospital, 175 in intensive care and 111 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing.

The York Region reached 52,498 total infections today, with 22 more positives than on Saturday and 718 victims since the start of the pandemic, with one more death than the previous day. today, 51,658 people were recovered.

In the city of Vaughan, the total number of people tested positive for Covid-19 was 21,741 today, with 8 more new infections than in the previous 24 hours. 288 deaths, with no more new death recorded today.

In Woodbridge today there were 9,331 total cases of positivity since the Covid-19 pandemic started, 6,737 in Maple, 7,474 in Richmond Hill and 12,529 in Markham.

In the Peel Region today there were 111,088 coronavirus positives, 32 more than the last survey and 801 total victims, with 3 more deaths than on the last bulletin. There were 109,919 healings recorded in total, while 3,169 people were hospitalized.

In Mississauga, the total number of people who tested positive for the coronavirus was 40,228 today, 14 more than last Saturday. Also in Mississauga were today 446 victims so far, with one more death recorded, while there were 39,609 people recovered from Covid-19 and 1,515 people so far hospitalized due to the coronavirus.

In Brampton the total number of people positive for Covid-19 was today 66,174 with 16 new cases of contagion more than on Saturday. 332 confirmed deaths, with 2 more victims since the last bulletin, while 65,658 were found to be healed today.

In Caledon, there were 4,431 registered infections today, with 3 more cases than on Saturday, while 4,405 had recovered and 20 victims overall, with no more deaths confirmed.

In Hamilton the total number of positives today was 21,143 with 19 new cases of contagion more than in the last testing cycle, while the number of victims so far ascertained was 398, with one more new death recorded in the last 24 hours.

In Ottawa, 27,570 people were infected today, with 26 more new positives compared to the last survey, while 588 people died, with no more new deaths recorded since the last bulletin. The healed in the capital today were a total of 26,775.

In Quebec today there were 103 new registered cases, for a total of 373,921 infected, with 2 more additional deaths, per 11.191 total victims.
