On Tuesday, Ontario reached a grim milestone after public health officials reported three more Covid-related deaths for a total of 10,000 fatalities attributable to the virus since the start of the pandemic. An additional 687 new infections were logged, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 618,400. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 97.3% are considered recovered.
Globally, over 262 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 237 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.2 million worldwide.
