Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
HOUSTON – Mars is calling! Who wants to answer the call? It may seem like a joke, but the warning appeared on the official website of NASA (Don’t believe it? Here is the link: https://www.nasa.gov/feature/nasa-is-recruiting-for- yearlong-simulated-mars-mission) and is a full-blown announcement: “NASA is seeking applicants for participation as a crew member during the first one-year analog mission in a habitat to simulate life on a distant world, set to begin in Fall 2022″. →
TORONTO – When the school year resumes Ontario will allow students to participate in “close indoor sports” such as basketball and hockey, and the province does not yet plan to impose COVID-19 vaccinations for educators, staff or students. The Minister of Education of Ontario Stephen Lecce reiterated this today during a press conference: the provincial government will continue to support its immunization campaign, he said, but the mandatory “at the moment” is not taken into account. →

TORONTO – One dose of one vaccine, one of another: when in the absence of available alternatives at the time of recall, injections of different vaccines were offered, many people accepted. After all, the scientific community tried to reassure everyone, the benefits would have been the same. Then, slowly, the effectiveness of a mixed vaccination regimen was questioned. Or at least doubts have arisen for lack of an experimental basis on which to base the decision. And many countries in the world have decided not to authorize, for example, vaccines such as AstraZeneca, called into question for the risk of developing thrombotic events such as heart attacks and pulmonary embolisms. →
