NDP to Mayor Tory: “Nobody has that much power, Bill 39 is dangerous”

TORONTO  – “No one in Canada, not even the Premier and Prime Minister, has the power to govern with a minority vote. You can’t trust anyone with that much power”. This, in a nutshell, is the message that the NDP of Ontario sends to John Tory (in the pic above, from his Twitter profile), inviting him to request the withdrawal of the provincial legislation that gives him almost absolute powers to encourage the construction of new housing. No fourth term for Mayor Bevilacqua


TORONTO – Vaughan Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua announced he will not be seeking re-election in the Municipal election later this year (October 24). He delivered the message at the annual Vaughan Mayor’s Gala Wednesday evening at the Universal Event Space in Vaughan. It was the first in-person Gala since 2019, following a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
