Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
CHICAGO – Today, over a week after the murder of the Rohingya leader Mohibullah, a diverse group of US and international civil society organizations have signed on to a statement linked here demanding a credible and complete investigation by the Bangladesh Government, along with honest monitoring of the investigation by the international community. TORONTO – New federal crackdown on mandatory vaccination. Starting from October 30, all civil servants and those traveling by plane, train or ship aged 12 and over will have to be vaccinated against Covid-19. The turning point was announced today by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his deputy Christya Freeland, following a measure that had already been presented during the electoral campaign that preceded the vote on September 20. TORONTO – The third wave of the pandemic is over. For some weeks now, the overall epidemiological picture in Ontario has been improving markedly, with the collapse of new daily cases, the sharp decrease in hospitalizations and intensive care admissions and, more generally, a mass immunization campaign that is finally travelling at full capacity.
