Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – The news that in the coming weeks there would be cuts to the teaching staff of the Toronto Caholic District School Board (TCDSB) to parents just did not go down. Today, a group of mothers and fathers of the students of the schools of the Catholic Board organized a protest that started in front of the Saint Pius X Catholic School which is located near Jane and Bloor Street. TORONTO – Restart the hospital system this fall to be able to cope with the backlog of surgeries and procedures that have accumulated during the lockdown caused by Covid-19 in Ontario. KIEV – 35 years after the disaster, Reactor 4 of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant seems to be “awakened”. And according to the scientists there is the risk of a new accident, albeit less serious than the one that occurred on the night of April 26, 1986 when the plant exploded, releasing radioactive clouds that also reached Europe and the eastern coast of North America.
