Status update of Covid-19 cases worldwide

Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of November 15, 2021, at 4:00 pm EST.

On Monday, health officials in the UK logged 39,705 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 9.6 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 81.9% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 47 Covid-related deaths for a total of 142,945 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

Ontario: increase in infections, four schools closed

TORONTO – Covid-19 has started to run again. The number of active cases of Covid-19 associated with Ontario’s public schools has reached 1,006 for the first time since October 29. Since the beginning of the school year, the infections are a total of 5,626. By this time, during the 2020-2021 school year, there had been only 3,387 confirmed cases among students and school staff.  (more…)

Trudeau-Kenney agreement: cheaper kindergartens in Alberta

TORONTO – Tight deadlines, a busy agenda and tension between the parties: these are the three boxes of a government puzzle that as the days go by takes on the appearance of a real puzzle. Justin Trudeau, after the Summit of the Three Amigos with US President Joe Biden and his Mexican counterpart Andrés Manuel López Obrador on Thursday, is preparing to turn the page and face the House of Commons for the first time since the vote on September 20th.
