Status update of Covid-19 cases worldwide

Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of November 15, 2021, at 4:00 pm EST.

On Monday, health officials in the UK logged 39,705 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 9.6 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 81.9% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 47 Covid-related deaths for a total of 142,945 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

Ontario: increase in infections, four schools closed

TORONTO – Covid-19 has started to run again. The number of active cases of Covid-19 associated with Ontario’s public schools has reached 1,006 for the first time since October 29. Since the beginning of the school year, the infections are a total of 5,626. By this time, during the 2020-2021 school year, there had been only 3,387 confirmed cases among students and school staff.  (more…)

Trudeau-Kenney agreement: cheaper kindergartens in Alberta
