
TORONTO – July 7, 2021: Canada stood today at 1,418,506 positives for Covid-19, an increase of 466 more cases than in the previous 24 hours. The number of victims – nationwide – reached 26,385 total deaths, 6 more than Tuesday. In Canada the number of recovered people from the coronavirus stood at 1,386,642.
Ontario today reached 546,411 overall positives, an increase of 194 new cases compared to Tuesday. The total number of victims in Ontario has meanwhile remained to 9,224, with no more deaths than the previous day. The number of recovered people in the province rose to 535,346 or 236 more than the previous 24 hours. There are 144,338 cases so far registered in Ontario of the English variant of Covid, 1,420 of the South African variant, 4,650 of the Brazilian variant and 2,222 of the Indian variant.
Today there were 221 people still in hospital, 202 of them in intensive care and 163 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing. There are 3 retirement and long-term homes that continue to record cases of Covid-19. There were 15,429 elderly patients infected in total since the beginning of the emergency and 3,973 total deaths so far recorded among guests of the same facilities. Until today, 7,209 health workers were infected in the same nursing homes and 11 died.
The city of Toronto has recorded, since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 170,068 positives today, with an increase of 27 cases compared to Tuesday. Meanwhile, there were 3,576 total deaths in the city, with no more new victims. 166,123 were found to be healed. There were 74 people still in hospital, 27 in intensive care and 21 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing.
The York Region reached 52,656 total infections today, with 2 more positives than on Tuesday and 743 victims since the start of the pandemic, with no more deaths than the previous day. Today, 51,872 people were recovered.
In the city of Vaughan, the total number of people tested positive for Covid-19 was 21,804, with 2 more new infections than in the previous 24 hours. 301 deaths, with no more new deaths recorded.
In Woodbridge there were 9,378 total cases of positivity since the Covid-19 pandemic started, 6,777 in Maple, 7,503 in Richmond Hill and 12,551 in Markham.
In the Peel Region there were 111,465 coronavirus positives, 24 more than the last survey and 816 total victims, with no more deaths than on the last bulletin. There were 110,506 healings recorded in total, while 3,222 people were hospitalized.
In Mississauga, the total number of people who tested positive for the coronavirus was 40,413, 11 more than last Tuesday. Also in Mississauga were 452 victims so far, with no more deaths recorded today, while there were 39,903 people recovered from Covid-19.
In Brampton the total number of people positive for Covid-19 was 66,401 with 16 new cases of contagion more than on Tuesday. 342 confirmed deaths, with no more victims since the last bulletin, while 65,980 were found to be healed today.
In Caledon, there were 4,442 registered infections, with 2 more cases than on Tuesday, while 4,416 had recovered and 20 victims overall, with no more deaths confirmed.
In Hamilton the total number of positives was 21,348 with 19 new cases of contagion more than in the last testing cycle, while the number of victims so far ascertained was 401, with no more new deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.
In Ottawa, 27,712 people were infected, with 7 more new positives compared to the last survey, while 591 people died, with no more new deaths recorded since the last bulletin. The healed in the capital were a total of 27,079.
In Quebec there were 103 new registered cases for a total of 375,365 infected, with one more additional death per 11.219 total victims.
