TORONTO – July 8, 2021: Canada stood today at 1,419,114 positives for Covid-19, an increase of 608 more cases than in the previous 24 hours. The number of victims – nationwide – today reached 26,404 total deaths, 19 more than Wednesday. In Canada today the number of recovered people from the coronavirus stood at 1,387,153. Ontario today reached 546,411 overall positives, an increase of 210 new cases compared to Wednesday. The total number of victims in Ontario has meanwhile remained to 9,228, with 4 more deaths than the previous day. The number of recovered people in the province rose to 535,577 or 231 more than the previous 24 hours.

There are 144,569 cases so far registered in Ontario of the English variant of Covid, 1,436 of the South African variant, 4,696 of the Brazilian variant and 2,285 of the Indian variant.
today there were 224 people still in hospital, 215 of them in intensive care and 158 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing. There are 4 retirement and long-term homes that continue to record cases of Covid-19. today there were 15,431 elderly patients infected in total since the beginning of the emergency and 3,974 total deaths so far recorded among guests of the same facilities. Until today, 7,210 health workers were infected in the same nursing homes and 11 died.

The city of Toronto has recorded, since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 170,086 positives today, with an increase of 18 cases compared to Wednesday. In the city of Vaughan, the total number of people tested positive for Covid-19 was 21,807 today, with 3 more new infections than in the previous 24 hours. 301 deaths, with no more new deaths recorded today.

In Woodbridge today there were 9,380 total cases of positivity since the Covid-19 pandemic started, 6,778 in Maple, 7,505 in Richmond Hill and 12,554 in Markham.

In the Peel Region today there were 111,483 coronavirus positives, 18 more than the last survey and 816 total victims, with no more deaths than on the last bulletin. There were 110,524 healings recorded in total, while 3,225 people were hospitalized.

In Mississauga, the total number of people who tested positive for the coronavirus was 40,418 today, 5 more than last Wednesday. Also in Mississauga were today 452 victims so far, with no more deaths recorded, while there were 39,911 people recovered from Covid-19.

In Brampton the total number of people positive for Covid-19 was today 66,415 with 14 new cases of contagion more than on Wednesday. 342 confirmed deaths, with no more victims since the last bulletin, while 65,988 were found to be healed today.

In Caledon, there were 4,442 registered infections today, with no more cases than on Wednesday, while 4,418 had recovered and 20 victims overall, with no more deaths confirmed.

In Hamilton the total number of positives today was 21,363 with 15 new cases of contagion more than in the last testing cycle, while the number of victims so far ascertained was 400, with no more new deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.

In Ottawa, 27,719 people were infected today, with 7 more new positives compared to the last survey, while 591 people died, with no more new deaths recorded since the last bulletin. The healed in the capital today were a total of 27,084.

In Quebec today there were 64 new registered cases for a total of 375,429 infected, with 10 more additional deaths per 11.229 total victims.
