Status update of Covid-19 cases worldwide

Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of September 2, 2021, at 4:00pm EST.

On Thursday, health officials in India logged 45,430 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 32.9million. Of the cumulative total, 97.5% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 641, bringing the total number of fatalities to 439,900.

Covid-19, today 865 cases in Ontario: never so many in three months

TORONTO – It is necessary to go back until June 4th to find a bulletin of the daily cases of Covid-19 in Ontario that reports more than 850 infections: then the cases were 914. Today, in Ontario, we have not reached at that figure but we are close to it: 865 new infections in twenty-four hours, just now that the provincial health officials have been experiencing fewer than 700 infections for three days.  Continue reading→

Niagara Centre: A key battleground for political parties

The electoral district of Niagara Centre (formerly known as Welland), is located in the Niagara Region. It is situated along the northeastern shore of Lake Erie and includes the cities of Port Colborne, Thorold, Welland and part of the City of St. Catharines.

Regionally, it is an area rich in history, culture and is comprised of several different ethnic groups. Italians, at 13% of the population, represent one of the largest ethnic groups in Niagara Centre.

York South-Weston: parte di un vecchio centro urbano

TORONTO – Il collegio elettorale di York South-Weston si trova nel centro di Toronto, appena a sud dei distretti di Humber River-Black Creek e York Centre. Confinano con l’area anche i distretti di Eglinton-Lawrence, Davenport, Parkdale-High Park e Etobicoke Centre. Con una popolazione di 116.685 residenti, la circoscrizione ospita numerosi gruppi etnici culturalmente diversi.
