Halalan sa Ere

With the three political party scampering for conventions one after the other. And with the succession of soliciting political contributions, it seems election is in the air. I had been attending political party conventions since I can remember. Why not meeting old lost friend in a conventions, free food and drinks I try not to miss it, regardless even its not my party. As a media representative you do not have to pay. You could scoop all sorts of different stories. Sometimes they feed you what organizer wants to link in the press.

But this time of pandemic I get turn off by this so called way of virtual zoom right in your living room. No interactions what so ever. This so called new normal, is abnormal to me. And if I could get away with it, I will gladly do it. But when situations asked for it, one does not have a choice and bear with it. Go with the flow. As the saying goes, dance with the music.

Let’s begin with the Liberal party. It seems to them this is the right moment for them to gain a majority. Right now, they are running the gov’t., by minority which they have difficulties in having to achieve something big and meaningful without having giving something to another party as a concession in return. So with the current situation of pandemic, it seems it’s being politicized.

Now with the Conservative party who did their Convention ahead of the two party. They seems to capitalized on the the shortages of supply of vaccine and the distributions to blame it on the current gov’t. For them the current gov’t. does nothing right and they project that they are the only righteous one who can do the job perfectly for the sake of the people of the country.

Now comes the NDP, who seems to be contented with how things are and wants the status quote. They seems to be achieving things by concession from minority Liberal gov’t. They shouts that now is not the time for election at the middle of pandemic. Which to some seems logical and makes sense.

The radicals to whom these three party have nothing to do shouts their grievances every Saturday at downtown core. They shouts for freedom of these and that. Voice out their grievances, conspiracy theory and defiance of the law. Some of them does not know what they are fighting for, just to have something to do on a Saturday afternoon shout their voices to high heavens which confuses the ordinary citizens.

The confuse ordinary citizens could not make their own mind just give up. Does not want any elections. And if there is one does not want to take part of it. As long as they have three meals a day it’s alright. For them, no matter which party runs the gov’t., are all the same. It does not change their life. Another sign of maneuvering is the succession of meetings of Provincial Premier and Opposition Leaders specially Parti Quebecqua and the looming delay budget. The passing of the budget is the breaking point. If it did not pass, gov’t. collapse and an election is the menu of the day.
