In Ontario 184 new infected and 5 more deaths


TORONTO – July 1, 2021: Canada stood today at 1,415,303 positives for Covid-19, an increase of 688 more cases than in the previous 24 hours. The number of victims – nationwide – reached 26,295 total deaths, 21 more than Wednesday. In Canada today the number of recovered people from the coronavirus stood at 1,381,921.

Ontario reached 544,897 overall positives, an increase of 184 new cases compared to Wednesday. The total number of victims in Ontario has meanwhile risen to 9,168 with 5 more deaths than the previous day. The number of recovered people in the province rose to 533,472 or 322 more than the previous 24 hours.

There are 143,444 cases so far registered in Ontario of the English variant of Covid, 1,365 of the South African variant, 4,544 of the Brazilian variant and 1,909 of the Indian variant.

Today  there were 271 people still in hospital, 251 of them in intensive care and 181 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing. There are 3 retirement and long-term homes that continue to record cases of Covid-19. There were 15,389 elderly patients infected in total since the beginning of the emergency and 3,970 total deaths so far recorded among guests of the same facilities.

Until today, 7,194 health workers were infected in the same nursing homes and 11 died.

The city of Toronto has recorded, since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 169,800 positives today, with an increase of 52 cases compared to Wednesday. Meanwhile, there were 3,553 total deaths in the city, with 2 more new victims. 165,680 were found to be healed yesterday. There were 121 people still in hospital, 43 in intensive care and 28 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing.

The York Region reached 52,616 total infections, with 11 more positives than on Wednesday and 740 victims since the start of the pandemic, with one more death than the previous day. Today, 51,825 people were recovered.

In the city of Vaughan, the total number of people tested positive for Covid-19 was 21,782, with 4 more new infections than in the previous 24 hours. 300 deaths, with no more new deaths recorded today.

In Woodbridge there were 9,361 total cases of positivity since the Covid-19 pandemic started, 6,759 in Maple, 7,497 in Richmond Hill and 12,549 in Markham.

In the Peel Region there were 111,348 coronavirus positives, 20 more than the last survey and 814 total victims, with one more death than on the last bulletin. There were 110,371 healings recorded in total, while 3,212 people were hospitalized.

In Mississauga, the total number of people who tested positive for the coronavirus was 40,366 today, 9 more than last Wednesday. Also in Mississauga were today 451 victims so far, with one more death recorded, while there were 39,833 people recovered from Covid-19.

In Brampton the total number of people positive for Covid-19 was 66,335 with 12 new cases of contagion more than on Wednesday. 341 confirmed deaths, with no more victims since the last bulletin, while 65,917 were found to be healed today.

In Caledon, there were 4,438 registered infections today, with no more cases than on Wednesday, while 4,415 had recovered and 20 victims overall, with no more deaths confirmed.

In Hamilton the total number of positives today was 21,284 with 9 new cases of contagion more than in the last testing cycle, while the number of victims so far ascertained was 400, with one more new death recorded in the last 24 hours.

In Ottawa, 27,676 people were infected, with 5 more new positives compared to the last survey, while 591 people died, with no more new deaths recorded since the last bulletin. The healed in the capital were a total of 27,009.

In Quebec today there were 126 new registered cases, for a total of 374,857 infected, with 3 more additional deaths, per 11.210 total victims.
