Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

TORONTO – They must have waited until the last minute to secure maximum effect… biggest bang for the event’s buck, so to speak. In part, it worked. An estimated 400 people turned out for the announcement and for Steven Del Duca’s kick-off speech.
TORONTO – It was a long, painful and troubled birth. But eventually, after 70 years, the Canadian government will make an official apology for the internment of hundreds of Italian Canadians during World War II. The official date is May 27, 2021: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, as promised in 2019, will recite the mea culpa, attempting to heal a wound that has remained open in the community for decades. If Italy were to return to the monarchy, it will not have a king but a queen. And she will be the “rock princess” Vittoria Cristina Chiara Adelaide Maria (in the pic), niece of Vittorio Emanuele di Savoia, son of the last king of Italy, Umberto II, forced into exile after the institutional referendum which in 1946 sanctioned the end of the monarchy in Italy.
