Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – That may sound harsh. It is probably too complementary. With all due respect to the process and the individuals (54? and counting) offering to replace the retired, “self-disgraced” former mayor, and win the confidence of the public is never easy. Especially in an election with geographic boundaries overlapping twenty-five federal/provincial boundaries – without the galvanizing factors of Party, Leader, and Finances.
TORONTO – Continua ad allungarsi la lista delle candidature nella corsa a sindaco di Toronto. Con gli ultimi quattro pretendenti a scendere in campo – il fiduciario del provveditorato cattolico Frank D’Amico, l’imprenditore Darren Atkinson, Ari Grosman e John Ransome – siamo giunti a quota 58, tenendo conto che il 59° candidato, Rupica Singh Waraich, ha deciso di ritirarsi. Un numero record per il dopo Tory, che potrebbe crescere ulteriormente visto che la scadenza per la presentazione della lista definitiva è stata fissata al 12 maggio.
TORONTO – Mentre gli oltre 155mila dipendenti pubblici federali in tutto il Canada continuano imperterriti a scioperare, il governo di Ottawa ha presentato quella che definisce “un’offerta finale”.
TORONTO – Un altro giorno, un’altra protesta, un altro costo pubblico assunto per la “protezione” indicata per le teste di legno che esprimono disprezzo per i genitori, i loro figli e l’ambiente scolastico basato sull’etica che spetta loro per decreto costituzionale.
