In Ontario 270 new infected and 3 more deaths

TORONTO – June 21, 2021: Canada stood today at 1,409,318 positives for Covid-19, an increase of 735 more cases than in the previous 24 hours. The number of victims – nationwide – today reached 26,082 total deaths, 14 more than Sunday. In Canada today the number of recovered people from the coronavirus stood at 1,371,904. Ontario today reached 542,468 overall positives, an increase of 270 new cases compared to Sunday. It is the smallest daily increase of new infections the province has seen since before the second wave of the pandemic on September 13. Meanwhile, the total number of victims in Ontario has risen to 9,022 with 3 more deaths than the previous day. The number of recovered people in the province rose to 529,992 or 486 more than the previous 24 hours. There are 142,215 cases so far registered in Ontario of the English variant of Covid, 1,154 of the South African variant, 4,254 of the Brazilian variant and 887 of the Indian variant.

today there were 364 people still in hospital, 323 of them in intensive care and 202 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing. There are 9 retirement and long-term homes that continue to record cases of Covid-19.  Today there were 15,338 elderly patients infected in total since the beginning of the emergency and 3,966 total deaths so far recorded among guests of the same facilities. Until today, 7,136 health workers were infected in the same nursing homes and 11 died.

The city of Toronto has recorded, since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 169,335 positives today, with an increase of 47 cases compared to Sunday. Meanwhile, there were 3,496 total deaths in the city, with one more new victim. 164,591 were found to be healed today. There were 554 people still in hospital, 160 in intensive care and 96 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing.

The York Region reached 52,498 total infections today, with 22 more positives than on Sunday and 718 victims since the start of the pandemic, with one more death than the previous day. today, 51,658 people were recovered.

In the city of Vaughan, the total number of people who tested positive for Covid-19 was 21,741 today, with 8 more new infections than in the previous 24 hours. 288 deaths, with no more new death, recorded today.

In Woodbridge today there were 9,331 total cases of positivity since the Covid-19 pandemic started, 6,737 in Maple, 7,474 in Richmond Hill and 12,529 in Markham.

In the Peel Region today there were 111,088 coronavirus positives, 32 more than the last survey and 801 total victims, with 3 more deaths than on the last bulletin. There were 109,919 healings recorded in total, while 3,169 people were hospitalized.

In Mississauga, the total number of people who tested positive for the coronavirus was 40,228 today, 14 more than last Sunday. Also in Mississauga were today 446 victims so far, with one more death recorded, while there were 39,609 people recovered from Covid-19 and 1,515 people so far hospitalized due to the coronavirus.

In Brampton the total number of people positive for Covid-19 was today 66,174 with 16 new cases of contagion more than on Sunday. 332 confirmed deaths, with 2 more victims since the last bulletin, while 65,658 were found to be healed today.
