In Ontario 255 new infected and 11 more deaths

TORONTO – June 23, 2021: Canada stood today at 1,410,719 positives for Covid-19, an increase of 626 more cases than in the previous 24 hours. The number of victims – nationwide – today reached 26,172 total deaths, 15 more than Tuesday. In Canada today the number of recovered people from the coronavirus stood at 1,374,736. Ontario today reached 543,019 overall positives, an increase of 255 new cases compared to Tuesday. It is the smallest daily increase of new infections the province has seen since September 13. Meanwhile, the total number of victims in Ontario has risen to 9,093 with 11 more deaths than the previous day. The number of recovered people in the province rose to 530,894 or 460 more than the previous 24 hours. There are 142,647 cases so far registered in Ontario of the English variant of Covid, 1,154 of the South African variant, 4,263 of the Brazilian variant and 975 of the Indian variant.

today there were 305 people still in hospital, 295 of them in intensive care and 190 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing. There are 9 retirement and long-term homes that continue to record cases of Covid-19. Today there were 15,357 elderly patients infected in total since the beginning of the emergency and 3,967 total deaths so far recorded among guests of the same facilities. Until today, 7,175 health workers were infected in the same nursing homes and 11 died.

The city of Toronto has recorded, since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 169,387 positives today, with an increase of 70 cases compared to Tuesday. Meanwhile, there were 3,498 total deaths in the city, with 2 more new victims. 164,591 were found to be healed today. There were 555 people still in hospital, 161 in intensive care and 95 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing.

The York Region reached 52,560 total infections today, with 11 more positives than on Tuesday and 731 victims since the start of the pandemic, with 4 more deaths than the previous day. today, 51,732 people were recovered.

In the city of Vaughan, the total number of people tested positive for Covid-19 was 21,768 today, with 6 more new infections than in the previous 24 hours. 295 deaths, with one more new death recorded today.

In Woodbridge today there were 9,341 total cases of positivity since the Covid-19 pandemic started, 6,746 in Maple, 7,483 in Richmond Hill and 12,537 in Markham.

In the Peel Region today there were 111,163 coronavirus positives, 22 more than the last survey and 807 total victims, with 2 more deaths than on the last bulletin. There were 110,093 healings recorded in total, while 3,196 people were hospitalized.

In Mississauga, the total number of people who tested positive for the coronavirus was 40,270 today, 18 more than last Tuesday. Also in Mississauga were today 449 victims so far, with one more death recorded, while there were 39,691 people recovered from Covid-19.

In Brampton the total number of people positive for Covid-19 was today 66,236 with 34 new cases of contagion more than on Tuesday. 336 confirmed deaths, with 2 more victims since the last bulletin, while 65,777 were found to be healed today.

In Caledon, there were 4,438 registered infections today, with 4 more cases than on Tuesday, while 4,410 had recovered and 20 victims overall, with no more deaths confirmed.

In Hamilton the total number of positives today was 21,167 with 5 new cases of contagion more than in the last testing cycle, while the number of victims so far ascertained was 399, with no more new deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.

In Ottawa, 27,604 people were infected today, with 15 more new positives compared to the last survey, while 589 people died, with one more new death recorded since the last bulletin. The healed in the capital today were a total of 26,854.

In Quebec today there were 127 new registered cases, for a total of 374,222 infected, with 3 more additional deaths, per 11.198 total victims.
