Today in Ontario 170 new infected and 1 more death

TORONTO – July 5, 2021: Canada stood today at 1,417,415 positives for Covid-19, an increase of 473 more cases than in the previous 24 hours. The number of victims – nationwide – today reached 26,363 total deaths, 3 more than Sunday. In Canada today the number of recovered people from the coronavirus stood at 1,385,096.

Ontario today reached 545,973 overall positives, an increase of 170 new cases compared to Sunday. The total number of victims in Ontario has meanwhile risen to 9,215 with one more death than the previous day. The number of recovered people in the province rose to 534,791 or 233 more than the previous 24 hours. There are 143,955 cases so far registered in Ontario of the English variant of Covid, 1,415 of the South African variant, 4,632 of the Brazilian variant and 2,041 of the Indian variant.

Today there were 255 people still in hospital, 228 of them in intensive care and 170 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing. There are 3 retirement and long-term homes that continue to record cases of Covid-19. There were 15,397 elderly patients infected in total since the beginning of the emergency and 3,971 total deaths so far recorded among guests of the same facilities. Until today, 7,197 health workers were infected in the same nursing homes and 11 died.

The city of Toronto has recorded, since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 170,023 positives today, with an increase of 39 cases compared to Sunday. Meanwhile, there were 3,570 total deaths in the city, with one more new victim. 166,008 were found to be healed today. There were 78 people still in hospital, 30 in intensive care and 22 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing.

The York Region reached 52,632 total infections, with 8 more positives than on Sunday and 7423 victims since the start of the pandemic, with one more death than the previous day. 51,837 people were recovered.

In the city of Vaughan, the total number of people tested positive for Covid-19 was 21,797, with 7 more new infections than in the previous 24 hours. 301 deaths, with one more new death recorded yesterday.

In Woodbridge there were 9,372 total cases of positivity since the Covid-19 pandemic started, 6,773 in Maple, 7,498 in Richmond Hill and 12,547 in Markham.

In the Peel Region there were 111,415 coronavirus positives, 23 more than the last survey and 815 total victims, with no more deaths than on the last bulletin. There were 110,476 healings recorded in total, while 3,217 people were hospitalized.

In Mississauga, the total number of people who tested positive for the coronavirus was 40,395, 10 more than last Sunday. Also in Mississauga were 451 victims so far, with no more deaths recorded, while there were 39,888 people recovered from Covid-19.

In Brampton the total number of people positive for Covid-19 was yesterday 66,372 with 12 new cases of contagion more than on Sunday. 342 confirmed deaths, with no more victims since the last bulletin, while 65,966 were found to be healed today.

In Caledon, there were 4,440 registered infections, with no more cases than on Sunday, while 4,416 had recovered and 20 victims overall, with no more deaths confirmed.

In Hamilton the total number of positives was 21,319 with 8 new cases of contagion more than in the last testing cycle, while the number of victims so far ascertained was 400, with no more new deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.

In Ottawa, 27,703 people were infected, with 4 more new positives compared to the last survey, while 591 people died, with no more new deaths recorded since the last bulletin. The healed in the capital were a total of 27,063.

In Quebec today there were 49 new registered cases, for a total of 375,195 infected, with one more additional death, per 11.218 total victims.
