OTTAWA – The countdown is about to begin. The electoral machine is about to get going. According to a Liberal campaigning source, the start seems to have been set for August 15, while the date on which Canadians will have to go to the polls would be September 20. The rumors have been chasing each other for days: some claimed that the official launch of the campaign would take place as early as next Sunday, August 8, with the date of the elections set for September 13. On Sunday, health officials in the Philippines logged 8,735 new infections, numbers not seen since May. Of the cumulative 1.5 million confirmed positive cases, 94.3% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 127, brining the total number of fatalities to 28,016.
The revitalization of Ontario Place
After it’s closure in 2012, Ontario Place, Toronto’s iconic waterfront attraction, was left underutilized and a sad reminder of a once major tourist destination. Hopefully, that’s all about to change.

Daily update of Ontario’s Vaccination Campaign
With the largest vaccination campaign underway, the province has administered more than 19.5 million doses into the arms of Ontarians. On August 1, numbers released by the Ministry of Health show health officials administered 60,583 vaccine doses on Saturday, down from 81,590 doses the day prior.
