Confindustria Italia: “Canada is a great commercial partner”

ROME – “Canada is getting closer and closer”. The export numbers say it, and the new Canadian ambassador to Italy, Elissa Golberg, confirmed it during a meeting with Barbara Beltrame Giacomello, Vice President of Confindustria with responsibility for Internationalization.

“In our meeting – Beltrame Giacomello says – the ambassador shared with me a clear objective: to widen the path of opportunity that connects us to Canada. Because among those of the G20 , it is the country where the best conditions exist for entrepreneurial and investment activities”.

“After all, it is already a precious resource: it is the twentieth destination of Italian exports while Italy is its sixth supplier. And in the ten years before the pandemic, the value of Made in Italy has even doubled. It is a market capable of attracting large Italian companies thanks to the tenders launched by the Canadian government, but also medium / small ones thanks to CETA , the Canada-EU trade agreement which since 2017, after its provisional entry into force, facilitates our export “.

And she concludes: “In short, it is time to think of Canada not only as a great country, but also as a great commercial partner”.
