Status update of Covid-19 cases worldwide

Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of November 25, 2021, at 7:00 pm EST.

On Thursday, health officials in the UK logged 47,240 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed ten million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 88.6% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 147 Covid-related deaths for a total of 144,433 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

Covid vaccine, it’s the children’s turn

TORONTO – There are over 36 thousand appointments booked so far for the administration of the Covid-18 vaccine to children aged between 5 and 11 years. Today clinics, hospitals and pharmacies began to administer the first dose to children whose age falls within this range. So far in Toronto, 36,373 appointments have been booked out of the more than 49,086 total places available for children until December 11th. 

New increase in infections in Ontario, 748. Quebec exceeds 900

TORONTO – The trend of the last few weeks is also confirmed in this one: at the arrival of the weekend, the infections rise and today they were 748, a sharp increase compared to the 591 of just 24 hours earlier. The seven-day moving average continues to rise, reaching 692 (a week ago it was 597). With 33,932 tests processed in the last 24 hours, the positivity rate rises to 2.6% from 2% a week ago.

Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of November 24, 2021, at 4:30 pm EST.

On Wednesday, health officials in Greece logged 7,106 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 901 thousand. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 89.2% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 95 Covid-related deaths for a total of 17,612 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

Covid-19: cases drop in Ontario, surge in Quebec

TORONTO – Still a slight decline in infections in Ontario which today recorded 519, against 613 on Tuesday, 627 on Monday, 741 on Sunday and 728 on Saturday. Another 7 deaths bringing the total deaths in Ontario, since the beginning of the pandemic, to 9,981. The seven-day moving average of new cases is now at 686, still very high from last week when it was at 587. Ontario laboratories processed nearly 30,100 tests today, producing a positive rate of 2.5%, unchanged from a week ago.

Ontario: nuovi contagi, media in aumento: +16%

TORONTO – Leggero calo dei nuovi casi di Covid-19 in Ontario, ieri: la provincia ha registrato 613 infezioni, contro le 627 di lunedì e le 741 domenica. La media mobile sui sette giorni è ora pari a 675, per un aumento del 16,5% rispetto a una settimana fa, quando era pari a 579. On Tuesday, health officials in Spain logged 6,777 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 5.1 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 96.2% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 34 Covid-related deaths for a total of 87,866 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

Ontario: Covid-19 cases on the rise, ten schools closed

TORONTO – The number of Ontario schools closed due to the Covid-19 outbreak has reached double digits for the first time since the beginning of this school year. Following the decision to transfer the students of Grenoble Public School, which is located in the Flemingdon Park neighborhood, to distance learning as of today, 10 schools in Ontario are now closed. The decision to suspend face-to-face classes was taken after at least 15 students tested positive for the virus within a few days.
