Giorgia Meloni with the Italian-American Community: “Your story is an extraordinary tale”

ORLANDO (Florida) – Patriotism and national pride at the center of the meeting, which took place in Orlando, in the weekend, between the President of the ECR (Party of European Conservatives) and Fratelli d’Italia, Giorgia Meloni – invited by the CPAC to participate as speaker at the largest convention of American Conservatives and Republicans – and the exponents of the Italian-American community.

In her speech, the leader FdI underlined the sense of love for the Country, “a universal value that every people enlightens in any place on Earth: it is valid for every man, even in the most inhospitable corners of the Earth, for us Italians as for the Saharawis who love their desert…”.

Giorgia Meloni wanted to underline the value of the nation, referring to the definition of Ernest Renan, a “plebiscite that is renewed” also “on the size of the sacrifices made and those that a people are still willing to make together”, insisting on the challenges and victories that our communities of Italians abroad face every day and know how to win. “The history of Italians in the world is an extraordinary tale, I have found much more love for Italy outside its national borders than I find inside”, underlined the leader of FdI.

The reference to the value of sacrifice was underlined also by the President of the Tricolor Committee for Italians in the World (Comitato Tricolore per gli Italiani nel Mondo – CTIM), Vincenzo Arcobelli (present together with the delegates Anna Zuccarone, Pasquale Cetera – in the photo above, during the toast with Meloni – and other participants from Florida) in his welcome to the Honorable Giorgia Meloni accompanied by the European delegation: Arcobelli in fact highlighted “the sufferings, the denigrations, the sacrifices made in the past in the field of work by the Italians, but above all the path of integration and the successes obtained by the many who have distinguished themselves and are distinguishing in the most varied fields, from industry to scientific research, from aerospace to medicine, from art to food; and all this with the pride of national identity, the promotion of our language and culture, of made in Italy, with the defense of the Italian heritage and of our symbols against the madness of the ‘cancel culture’ “.

Addressing Meloni, in memory of Mirko Tremaglia, founder of CTIM and father of voting abroad, Arcobelli wanted to express the request that the Ministry for Italians in the World be restored, in order to have constant direct dialogue with the Government and to be able to contribute effectively to the Italian System, wishing her with great affection “to continue her journey, with heart and enthusiasm, to take Italy higher and higher”.

Giorgia Meloni, thanking the organizers and the participants for the warm welcome, wanted to dedicate her greeting with a final toast, citing the Patriot Nazario Sauro in the letter addressed to his son before being executed: “On this Country, Nino, swear to me, and you will swear to yours children when they are old enough, to understand that you will always be Italian first of all!”.
