Budget proposals may ignore contributor’s financial rights

TORONTO – Like everyone else, I will be watching for details in the upcoming budget; sorry, I meant the “costed” election platform to be presented by the current government. I will be looking for transparency and disregarding rhetoric. No, it will not be driven by partisanship but by purely selfish [legitimate] desires to protect my assets (such as they are) – home and pension. 

Status update of Covid-19 cases worldwide

Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of April 24, 2022, at 4:15pm EST.

On Sunday, health officials in Italy logged 56,263 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 16.1 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 91.3% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 79 Covid-related deaths for a total of 162,688 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

Covid patients in ICU, + 28.4% in one month

TORONTO – 1,362 people are hospitalized in Ontario with or due to Covid-19, 212 of which in intensive care: today’s data could indicate a decrease in the number of Covid patients compared to the day before when the hospitalized were 1,684 (unchanged, instead, the number of people in the ICU), but it should be noted that not all hospitals report data over the weekend. What is certain is that ICU employment has increased by 7.6% in the past week and by 28.4% in the past month.
