The following is an update to the article: Dramatic resignation at the head of the HCDSB (April 20). At a Board meeting held on April 19, 2022, Vice Chair Agnew announced that the Board of Trustees accepted with regret the resignation of Pat Daly, Director of Education and Secretary of the Board at the HCDSB, effective July 31, 2022.
No reasons were given for his resignation at that time. Neither the Director, nor his office, nor the Chair of the Board responded to our requests for comment.
Two days later (April 21), the HCDSB released a statement – signed by the vice chair – pertaining to the Director of Education’s departure. The statement read, in part, “Pat Daly has accepted the position of Principal at St. Michael’s College School and will assume his new role on August 1, 2022”.
What is not clear, is departure date from Halton Catholic School Board.
The search for a new Director of Education is set to begin in the coming weeks.
