A Polish pastor in Calgary, who chased the police twice, could go to jail

Last week, he chased away the inspector of the Public Health Service of Calgary, Alberta, and the police for the second time.

Artur Pawłowski may be arrested next time.

We wrote about it in the following articles:

A Polish pastor in Calgary once again kicked the public health inspector and police out of the church grounds

and

Calgary, Alberta: Police entered the Polish Evangelical Church in Calgary during a service.

According to information provided to our website, Jason Kenney, the prime minister of Alberta, authorized the police to arrest Pawłowski and close his church. It might have happened yesterday, when the police arrived again, but in defense of the Polish pastor a large crowd gathered to protect Pawłowski and the church grounds.

Here is the warning issued by Pawłowski on Twitter:

The American Conservative Movement is watching these developments closely. Pawłowski is almost a cult figure for a very large conservative movement in the USA, which includes a large number of Polish diaspora – Polonia. The news of the first visit by the police had over 3 million visits. At least such a number of people found out about the case. If Pawłowski is arrested, the numbers of visits and people who find out about it could be interesting.

According to LifeSiteNews, if public health inspectors are not admitted to inspect church premises, a warrant issued and signed by government officials will authorize the police to do “anything necessary” to arrest him or anyone else “at the property” should officials not be allowed to inspect the church.

The warrant states that where an individual is actually arrested on the basis of an “order”, the police are “empowered to take all necessary steps to effect the arrest, including the use of such reasonable force as may be necessary to make the arrest and without a warrant step into any place where, for good reasons, law enforcement deems the offender to be found.”

Pawłowski is a famous street preacher in Calgary, known for feeding the homeless. For over 20 years, he has led the action of Street Church Ministries in Calgary and is a staunch opponent of coronavirus lockdowns.

After the warrant was issued Rebel News launched a website called SaveArtur.com, promising to help Pawłowski with legal fees and “do everything we can to save Pastor Arthur.”

Pawłowski escaped from communist Poland as a youth with his family. He recently said that the constant presence of police in his church gave him bad memories of growing up behind the Iron Curtain.

He said that while he did not mind talking to the authorities, it should not be done during services, which he said “intimidate” his parishioners.

In Alberta, Covid-19 health regulations enacted by United Conservative Party (UCP) prime minister Jason Kenney limited church attendance to 15 percent and mandated mask wear and physical distancing.

Many churches in Alberta have opposed these restrictions, including Pastor James Coates of Grace Life Church in Spruce Grove, Alberta. He was sentenced to over a month in prison for opposing the restrictions related to Covid-19.
